As an alternative to the above COVID requirements, travelers who were previously diagnosed as COVID-19 positive may present a medical certificate from their country of origin attesting to their recovery and current good health, as long as the onset of the COVID-19 symptoms occurred more than 30 days prior to arrival in Ecuador. In addition, all travelers must have medical travel insurance and fill out a Health Status Declaration Form (provided in-flight prior to landing in Ecuador). Requirements for return to United States All passengers arriving from a foreign country must get tested 3 days before their flight departs. Travelers must present the negative test result (or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19) to the airline before boarding the flight. All passengers will also be required to confirm that the information they provide is true in the form of an attestation. Testing can be made available in your hotel room, often with same-day results and attestation. Tests are also now available at Quito airport at VIP Medical, which is open 24/7. The cost is 40 USD (credit cards are accepted) and results are sent electronically in roughly 30 minutes.
