Segovia

Located about an hour north of Madrid, Segovia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is renowned for its medieval architecture. It is a popular day-trip destination from Madrid as high-speed trains and buses connect the two cities, allowing visitors to explore Segovia’s treasures and return to the capital in the same day.

Some of the key sights in Segovia are the Alcázar of Segovia, a stunning castle that is believed to have served as the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Cinderella Castle, and the iconic Roman aqueduct, which dates back to the 1st century AD. The historic old town is a labyrinth of narrow, cobble-stoned streets, charming squares and well-preserved medieval buildings.

The city also has a well-preserved Jewish Quarter known as the Juderia, and a 16th century cathedral, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, which features exquisite stained-glass windows.
