Cadiz

Situated on a narrow peninsula jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean in the south-western part of Spain, Cádiz is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe, with a rich history that spans over 3,000 years. Founded by the Phoenicians around 1100 BC, the city was subsequently ruled by the Carthaginians, Romans, Moors, and Christians.

Cádiz is known for its well-preserved historic center, characterized by narrow winding streets, picturesque plazas, and elegant neoclassical buildings. The city’s architectural heritage reflects its diverse cultural influences, with highlights including the Cádiz Cathedral, the Roman Theater, and the Torre Tavira, a watchtower offering panoramic views of the city and the sea.

The city is also famous for its several beautiful beaches, vibrant Carnival celebrations, which are among the largest and most colorful in Spain, and delicious seafood cuisine.
