Bend, Oregon

Bend is known to many as an outdoor recreationalist mecca. Flanked by the Cascade Range and high desert, the peaks, lakes, rivers and endless miles of trails in Bend, are home to year-round outdoor activities. As a historic outpost for the lumber industry, the town itself packs plenty of charm. Bend also has the most breweries per capita in the state of Oregon, with one brewery for every 4,500 people.

The legendary Bend Ale Trail is the largest beer trail in the West. Visitors get a Bend Ale Trail passport which includes a map and a list of all breweries on the trail, and get a stamp on the passport at each brewery they visit. Visitors can then submit their final passport to the Bend Visitor Center to receive special prizes. While the trail is open throughout the year, the best time to participate is in November, when there are several beer inspired events happening all over town.

Day Tour of Smith Rock State Park and Columbia River Gorge

Depart from Bend, and stop at Smith Rock State Park to explore the 650 acre park with your naturalist guide. From there, make your way to Hood River, and enjoy lunch at one of the craft breweries in town before embarking on a journey through the incredible Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
