Parco Sempione

Parco Sempione is a large green space located close to the Castello Sforzesco. Built between 1890 and 1893, the park covers an area of around 38 hectares. Designed by architect Emilio Alemagna, the park incorporates bushes, flowers, trees, and beautiful, vivid lawns. There is an artificial lake as well, which is home to several stunning birds. Other sights in the area include:

1. The Arena Civica; An impressive amphitheater that was inaugurated in the presence of Napoleon in 1806, and hosts several concerts today.

2. The Arco della Pace: A triumphal arch that was originally built in 1807 to commemorate Napoleon’s victories, but was only completed in 1838, in celebration of Italian unification.

3. The Acquario Civico Milano: The aquarium of Milan, which was constructed for the Expo of 1906.
