Duomo di Milano

Duomo di Milano is a Gothic and Lombard Romanesque style cathedral in the heart of Milan that is dedicated to the Santa Maria Nascente and is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan. Construction started in the year 1386 by Archbishop Antonio Da Saluzzo, but the cathedral took nearly 600 years to complete, with the final details finished only in 1965! The largest church in Italy, and one of the world’s largest Catholic churches, the Duomo can accommodate up to 40,000 people inside. The roof of the cathedral offers spectacular views of the city.
