Zadar
Located in the northern part of the Dalmatia region, on the Adriatic coast, Zadar is known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and beautiful waterfront setting.
Some of the key architectural sights in the city include: One of the best-preserved Roman forums in the Adriatic region that dates back to the 1st century AD, the St. Donatus Church, a cylindrical church, built in the 9th century, the Romanesque Cathedral of St. Anastasia, and the Land Gate and Sea Gate, which were once part of the city’s fortifications in medieval times.
Zadar also has two unique modern art installations that are worth visiting. These are the Sea Organ, a unique musical instrument powered by the waves that creates a melodious sound, and the Greeting to the Sun, a solar-powered installation that lights up in various patterns at night.
Finally, Zadar offers several beautiful beaches, and excellent restaurants where you can enjoy fresh seafood dishes, local wines, and traditional Dalmatian specialties.
