Manuel Antonio National Park

Manuel Antonio and the Manuel Antonio National Park are located on the Pacific coast in southern Costa Rica, just 3 hours away from San José by road or 25 Minutes by plane. Manuel Antonio is Costa Rica´s smallest national park, with an area of seven square kilometers, including twelve small islands on the coast. It is home to over 350 different plant species, 184 species of birds including toucans, woodpeckers, motmots, tanagers, turkey vultures, parakeets, and hawks, and 109 different mammal species from sloths, to coatis, black spiny tailed and green iguanas, and several monkey species including the Panamanian white-faced Capuchin monkey and the endangered Squirrel Monkey. The park also has four pristine beaches, Manuel Antonio, Espadilla Sur, Tesoro, and Playita, where visitors can snorkel and observe wildlife. The small town of Manuel Antonio has some nice bars and restaurants with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
