Arenal Volcano National Park

The Arenal Volcano National Park in the north of Costa Rica is perfect for nature-loving visitors who can enjoy the region’s many riches. The majestic volcano is covered with lush tropical rainforest and surrounded by hills. Although it is currently dormant, and its lava flows have drastically reduced, its historical eruptions in 1968 and 2010, greatly affected people and the country. There are several exciting things to do in the Arenal area from rope climbing, to hiking in the tropical rain forest, horseback riding along the Arenal volcano, white water rafting, and soaking in natural hot springs. La Fortuna, a tiny town at the base of the volcano is one of the most beautiful sights in the country.
