Tayrona National Forest

Ever wanted to get lost on a deserted beach in the middle of the jungle? Welcome to Tayrona National Park. Voted the world’s most beautiful destination by Condé Nast Traveler and The Guardian, the park is home to the out-of-this-world coastline, as well as the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Famous for sunsets, barefoot walks on the golden sands, and 16th-century ruins, there is plenty to see and enjoy in the area. For animal lovers, there are 108 species of mammal, 300 species of birds and over 70 species of bat in the area – but it doesn’t end there. The national park also covers 12 square miles of the sea, where divers and snorkelers are treated to 110 species of coral and over 400 different types of fish – a truly “wild” vacation destination.
