Valdivia

Valdivia is a charming city located at the confluence of the Calle-Calle River and the Valdivia River, not far from where the Valdivia River flows into the Pacific Ocean. Its strategic location has historically made it an important center for trade and commerce. The city has a rich history dating back to the Spanish colonial era when it was founded by Spanish conquistador Pedro de Valdivia in 1552.

Reflecting its colonial influence, the city boasts a blend of architectural styles. Some of the city’s historical buildings, such as the Valdivian Fort System and the Iglesia de San Francisco, are of particular interest. Valdivia is also famous for its beer culture, with several breweries and pubs that have embraced craft beer production, and its many vibrant markets, where visitors can sample local products, such as fresh seafood, fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts.
