Cafayate

Located about 3.5 hours south of Salta city, Cafayate is a small town that is famous for wine made from the Torrontés grape, a white grape variety that is distinctive to the region and has become Argentina’s signature wine grape. The wine smells sweet but tastes dry. Visitors can enjoy wine tasting at some of the highest vineyards in the world, reaching up to 10,000 ft above sea level, and also marvel at the beautiful reddish sandstone rock formations of the nearby Las Conchas River Gorge.
