Mana Pools National Park

Located in the far north of Zimbabwe, near the border with Zambia, Mana Pools National Park includes the south bank and islands of the Zambezi river. The name “Mana,” meaning four, comes from the fact that there are four permanent pools or watering holes in the park, regardless of rainfall.

The park is home to abundant wildlife, especially elephants, hippos, wild dog and Nile crocodiles, but also buffalo, zebra, antelope, cheetah, hyena, leopard, and lion. Birdwatchers will also enjoy the incredible birding opportunities the Mana Pools provide with over 450 species of birds nesting or migrating through the park area.
