Granada

Granada is one of the most visited cities in Spain, due its significant historical, cultural, and architectural importance.

The most famous attraction in Granada is the Alhambra, a stunning palace and fortress complex that dates back to the Moorish rule of Spain. Built primarily during the 13th and 14th centuries, the Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is renowned for its intricate Islamic architecture, beautiful gardens, and stunning views of the city.

Adjacent to the Alhambra is the Generalife, a palace and garden complex that served as a retreat for the Muslim kings of Granada. The Generalife features lush gardens, fountains, and pavilions, offering visitors a peaceful and picturesque setting.

Other key sights in the city include Albaicín, a historic neighborhood characterized by narrow, winding streets, white-washed houses and traditional Moorish architecture, the Cathedral of Granada, a prominent example of Spanish Renaissance architecture, and Sacromonte, a neighborhood famous for its century-old cave dwellings, and its vibrant flamenco scene.

Granada is also home to one of the oldest universities in Spain, The University of Granada, which was established in 1531.
