Toledo

Known as the city of three cultures – Christian, Muslim, and Jewish – Toledo has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. The city has a long history with metal works, traditionally making swords and other bladed weapons from the Roman era to the 1980s.

Located only around an hour south of Madrid, Toledo is also a popular day-trip destination. The town is brimming with historical buildings and artifacts, including cathedrals, mosques, and synagogues – the perfect place to get lost for a weekend. Don’t leave Toledo without trying one of the local partridge stews – a delicacy in the area.
