Costa Brava

The Costa Brava, meaning ‘wild coast’ in Spanish, is one of Europe’s most romantic and scenic stretches of coastline along the Mediterranean Sea. Located around two hours north of Barcelona, the Costa Brava is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including rugged cliffs, secluded coves, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear waters, as well as picturesque villages and important historical and cultural sights.

Some of the key sights on the Costa Brava include the medieval town of Tossa de Mar, the ruins of Empúries, the Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery, and the city of Girona. The town of Figueres is of important cultural significance as the birthplace of the renowned Surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres is one of the area’ s top attractions and showcases a vast collection of Dalí’s works. The beaches of Platja de Pals, Platja de Lloret, Platja de Roses, and Cala Montjoi are also not to be missed.

Like France’s Côte d’Azur, the Costa Brava has several beautiful hotels and exceptional restaurants, including 17 Michelin-starred restaurants, offering a mix of seafood, Catalan cuisine, and a variety of traditional dishes like paella and tapas.
