Caño Cristales is a river in Colombia also known as the “River of Five Colors” or “the Rainbow River”. Located in the Meta Province of Colombia, the color of the river changes throughout the year, displaying yellows, greens, blues, blacks, and most famously, reds, thanks to the variety of plants on the river bed. The area isn’t just known for the river, it is also where The Andes, Eastern Llanos, and the Amazon Rainforest meet, offering a diverse selection of fauna and flora, including over 420 species of bird and 42 different species of reptile.
