Portland, Oregon
Located at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers in northern Oregon, in the shadow of the snow-capped Mount Hood, Portland is the largest and most populous city in Oregon. It is known for its eco-friendliness, parks, and recreational facilities, and also for its numerous micro-breweries, coffee houses, and donut shops, the most famous of which are Voodoo Doughnuts and Blue Star. Some of the key sights in the city include the Portland Japanese Garden, the Lan Su Chinese Garden, the International Rose Test Garden, Washington Park, the Portland Art Museum, Pittock Mansion, a historic 1914 home converted into a museum, and Powell’s City of Books, the world’s largest independent and used bookstore with over a million books.
