Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake located at the highest elevation of the Kenyan Rift valley at 1,884 m above sea level. It is known as a world-class birding destination as the forests of yellow barked Acacia surrounding the Lake have abundant bird life. The lake also has several hippos that sleep during the day in the shallows, giraffes that wander among the acacia trees, and buffalo that wallow in the swamps. The fertile soil in the area and abundant water supply have made this one of Kenya’s prime agricultural regions.
