Cusco

Cusco, often spelled as Cuzco, is located at an elevation of 3,400 meters or 11,200 feet in southeastern Peru. This historic city served as the capital of the Inca empire from the 13th century, until the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. Cusco is the gateway to the Inca trail to Macchu Picchu.
